Health District

The mission of the South Central Health District (SCHD), formerly the Plainville-Southington Regional Health District, is to be committed to improving the health and well-being of the communities served through prevention of disease, promotion of healthy living, and protection of the environment.

SCHD's Public Health responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Health promotion
• Disease prevention
• Health care services

SCHD's Housing Code Enforcement duties include, but are not limited to:
• Conducting inspections of any rental dwelling or dwelling unit, prior to any new occupancy
• Issuing Certificates of Compliance
• Investigate and resolve housing complaints
